Hi Folks

I am trying to open a Word document that I've been sent both by e-mail (hotmail) and through MS Messenger. Problem is when I open it I get prompted to convert it and no matter what I select the document opens with millions of nonsensical signs and letters.

Does anyone know what the issue is here, perhaps some save setting from the other end.

Cheers

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
Cheers for the response, I have since found that the document originated from OpenOffice. Think this is where the problem lies, it has been saved as a *.doc but I think there must be some kind of breakdown between OO and MS between the originating computer and mines.

Thanks again.
