should be in XL Questions forum - not elegant but works

assuming Miller, Andre (PG-Den) in A1
in B1 enter
=MID(A1,FIND("-",A1)+1,LEN(A1)-(FIND("-",A1))-1)

will give Den

Copy formula down for other strings to get NY etc...
