Does putting this in the Workbook_BeforeClose event cause the file to be saved twice?

ActiveWorkbook.Close SaveChanges:=True

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
Yes.
Example:

Private Sub Workbook_BeforeClose(Cancel As Boolean)
MsgBox "Saving Workbook"
ActiveWorkbook.Close SaveChanges:=True
End Sub

The Before_Close event triggers a few other things like changing worksheets' visible settings. I was trying to save the file after other such activities so when the actual close was attempted, the file would not be dirty.

OK, so change it to :-

Private Sub Workbook_BeforeClose(Cancel As Boolean)
'Do some things here
ActiveWorkbook.Save
End Sub
