is there a way to run a maco from a workbook event - i'm looking to automatically reprotect a worksheet when the user has completed a "data import" (get external data from text)

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
You can use Call to run a macro from a workbook event.

But most of the time, you don't want to be putting all the code into workbook event.
You should be a calling a sub/function from the workbook event.

For example, Instead of this:
Code:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
    'Do tons of code
End Sub

It should be
Code:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
    Call a
End Sub

Sub a()
    'Tons of code
End Sub
