Hey all!

I have a workbook that currently auto saves itself to users XLSTART. The workbook has a number of macros that our team uses and needs to have access to anytime they open EXCEL.

Today a user had their computer freeze on them while in EXCEL. They had to do a hard restart and shut their computer down. Now, when they open EXCEL it does not recognize that this workbook is in their XLSTART.

Here are the things I did to troubleshoot:
  1. I placed another workbook in the XLSTART to see if EXCEL would read that. And it does
  2. I removed the workbook, cleared his cookies, cache and restarted his computer. I re-added the workbook and it still doesn't work
  3. I tried to trick EXCEL by using the EXCEL OPTIONS - ADVANCED - GENERAL and putting the address to his XLSTART in the "At startup, open all files in: " section. This still didn't work.

Anything I haven't thought of? I'm completely stumped!

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)

I like to post the answers, so if this thread comes up in a search it will be complete! Here is the solution:

  1. Click the Microsoft Office Button, click the Excel Options, click the Add-Ins tab.
  2. Click to select Disabled Items in the Manage list at the bottom, and then click Go.
  3. Select the file, and then click Enable.
