Workbook inserts rows slowly

Hello All,

I am working on an operational forecasting model that is 45.2MB in ".xlbs" format. Development requires coping a calculation block of say 1,000 lines and inserting below the previous module.

The issue, it takes over two minutes to insert just one row on a sheet that has over 18,000 lines.

Have reset UsedRange(s), removed files in XLSTART, removed unnecessary ".xla" files, removed conditional formatting and renamed the file.

A full calculation (not rebuild) takes about 2 seconds (timed using FASTExcel form Charles Williams).

Would curving out calculations from the large worksheets into new worksheets be sensible on the basis that I under stand calculations move left to right, then top to bottom?

This is driving me bonkers.

Would really appreciate your thoughts.

Kind regards,
David

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.

Have you tried switching calculation mode to manual?
