Hi,

When opening a new workbook, is it possible to open it in a new window similarly when you open a new document in Word.

i have 2007 if you right click on the excel logo on you toolbar at the bottow you can open a new file, this will allow you to have 2 windows open side by side

If you are trying to open two different occurrences of the Excel program so you can put one workbook on one screen and the second on another, then yes.

After you have opened your first workbook, go to Start > Programs and find Excel. Click the program and it should open a new occurrence independent from the original...
