I have a total in a cell with a common formula {=sum(A1+A2)}. If there is a sum, it puts the total, if not, it puts a 0.

I am wanting my formula cell to be blank unless the sum is greater than 0.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
IF(A1+A2=0,"",A1+A2)

You can also format the cell to not display a zero. Tools Options>View Tab>Display zeros. You can also use custom formatting to hide the zero value
#;#;;

Why is it not just

=A1+A2

or

=SUM(A1:A2) ?

Why do you want blank instead of 0 -- cosmetic reasons? If so, you could apply a custom format like

[=0]"";General

to the formula cell.
