Can anyone assist me, or provide me with a good tutorial, for coding a pivottable into my project?

I want to use a pivot table to provide a tally of each individual "type". The data from which this pivottable is dynamic in size (#of rows). The column headings are unchanged.

From this pivottable, I wish to use the values calculated on another worksheet, thus these values mush chnage dynamically with the pivottable.

I notice that when you creat a pivottable manually, you can click on a particular result (ie count of type DIA) to get a new worksheet open of just that data. How would I code that option?
