Write-protect droplist cell

Hello Excel friends!

In a workbook, I have several cells containing a(n indirect) droplist. Works just fine. Since I do not want users to enter any value other than provided in the droplist, unchecked the “ignore blanks” option in the conditional formatting screen.
Upton testing, whenever I try to enter a random value, I get stopped. So far so good.

This workbook is intended to be a form, that is shared with a number of users to fill out. In order to prevent them from accidentally messing up my workbook, I protected it with a password. This leaves them with bare minimum of options and only a few accessible cells to fill out.

All seems fine, however…. i noticed that -in despite of my precautions- it is possible to enter invalid values in my droplist cell after all. Not by typing, but copying. This spells disaster, since users are likely to copy cells containing a formula, messing up the form.

Does anybody have a bright idea on how to solve this (preferably without the use of VBA)?

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
