Hi

Does anyone know how I can get excel to open this file as a standard when I select a 'New' workbook?

I want the extended rows and columns associated with this format

Excel Facts

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
I'm using Excel 2010 and if I do New then Save As, .xlsx is the default format.

What version of Excel are you using?

Fisher1975,

Try Excel Options >> Save >> Save Workbooks >> Save workbooks in this format:

and select your required default from the topdown list.

Hope that helps.

***Edit Sorry, you are saying open not save!! ***
(Back to bed methinks..)

Snakehips,

Worry not, I never knew that you could change the default SaveAs filetype - respect!
