Good morning all.

Excel Version = 2003 XP

Is it possible to use formulae within Chart Data Ranges?

What I need to do : (simplified)

Columns A & B = The data I want charting
Column C = An indicator 1, 2, 3 or 4

I have 4 charts

Each chart charting the data for the relevant indicator.

At present I have to sort the data by column C, and change the data ranges to take into account the ever increasing number of rows due to additional data.

Is it possible to say =IF($C:$C=1, then chart the data in columns A and B)
Similarly for 2, 3, and 4 and so on.

I hope this makes sense!

Mark.

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
I've tried everything I can think of over the last 4 hours to solve this, but am getting nowhere.

I've even tried creating 2 other columns to chart from with IF($A1=1,1) and IF($A1=1,2) etc but the charting doesn't like the FALSE answers from cells that are 2, 3, or 4.

I am now doing some serious head scratching!!!

Hi Markwales

If you mark a point as Not Available the graph will interpolate it.

With you data like in the example I post, use in D2

=IF(C2=1,B2,NA())

The same for the other E:G

Then build the chart using Columns A,D:G and you'll see the 4 lines.

Hope this helps
