Yes / No sum

Can anyone tell me how to in a worksheet:

Have serveral yes no drop down options, and with these have a sum at the end that says 2 yes's and 4 no's or something lke that

How are your drop downs set up? Are they data validated cells? Are they combo boxes--if so, are they linked to cells?

All i have done is setup 2 boxes saying Yes no, i put these n by clicking the cell then secting Data>validation>List>Yes,No

Yeas thanks for that it works berfect BUT........

I assume this will still work if i have the yes/no's scattered all over the worksheet and if so how do i do it.

You just change the range that is being looked at. So in the example I posted above, the function is only counting instances of Yes or No in range A1:A6.

If you want to count all the instances within, say, A1:G10, you would simply enter that range in place of A1:A6.
