Sorry, but I have been searching the archives (there are a million hits for "conditional formatting") and trying to get this all night. This has to be easy but I haven't found it yet:

If there is any value in A1, then I want conditional formatting in A2 to respond. If A1 is blank, then there is no formatting to A2.

I have been messing around with =ISBLANK(A1) and it works great except that its backwards from what I want, and I can't seem to get a NOT or (NOT) to work with it.

What am I missing?

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
