Is there a rational reason why the board requires that I wait 3 seconds between clicking on Like this post and Thank you for posting this?

For that matter, is there a rational reason why there are two ways to acknowledge a helpful post?

It possibly stops trolls, clicking every link on a page quickly. I might like your post, but not going to thank you for it

I doubt that, but an easy solution would be to eliminate one or the other.

I might like your post, but not going to thank you for it
I cannot imagine a situation where I would like something but not thank or vice versa.

In any case, this is, IMNSHO, just another minor inconvenience for the non-troll user for little or no useful purpose.

Many people will thank someone for trying to help, but will not click like as the solution provided did not work.

Perhaps, but this doesn't explain the 3-second delay. It seems completely useless to me -- actually worse than useless.

ymmv

Then please do not use that feature

In that case, one would have reason to wonder why have you given 81 'Thanks' but only 70 'Likes'.
