:.. I expect there are a lot more!!!

_.. So I am lurking a lot these days and am sometimes really grateful when I find a detailed solution to something that has been bugging me for ages and is not to be found, that is to say very badly documented, officially, anywhere.

_ . Logging in and hitting the Like is IMO a good courtesy , but a shame the giver does not really see where the
recognition is.

Some Questions:
_1) If the giver is a non prolific poster, a PM to say thanks could also IMO also be in Order. But for the many regulars who churn out an amazing amount of help I expect that would be totally impracticable and unwelcome as they would be inundated with PM’s. Any regulars like to comment on that?
_ 2) I also expect it would be unwelcome to Reply to say thanks. Mainly as the Forums popularity means that there are sometimes an insane number of Posts, so one should not clutter it further. Or maybe not? – If one finds a Post particularly useful maybe a reply to bring it up, that is to say, get a particularly good solution into view could be a benefit. But i would emphasise only in the case of when you find a Solution extremely detailed and / or useful. - If every lurk that found a solution replied, I expect the Board Software would break under the strain. Any comments there?
_ 3). I guess if once founding a solution through a Thread you are then able to make a worthwhile addition or comment, then a Reply in that Thread is OK?. Any comments on that?

Thanks
Alan

P.s. I expect many regulars have different motives for posting, and may just find the Likes / Thanks thing an irritance. But I hope at least the current Like is not disabled and a last Thanks to the Posters from which I have learnt lots and hope to continue to do so.

I am by far and away not the most prolific poster on the forum but personally I am more than happy with just a thank you being posted in a reply in the thread (or even a statement stating whether a solution worked or not) from the original poster or possibly from someone who has previously posted in the thread.
I wouldn't expect (or want) anyone who is just surfing for an answer to a problem and has found something I posted useful to say thank you as I have after posted it on a public forum.

I really wouldn't want PM's being sent to me just to say thank you.

Anyway that is my tuppence/2 cents worth.

Hi,
I am by far and away not the most prolific poster....
there are even more prolific, and some amazingly prolificer, but with over 5000 posts , as far as i can see all giving, a very very prolific poster!! - Thanks, and Thanks for the Reply!!
