I suggest that a rule be added to the forum rules that bans the inclusion in posts of any religious comments whatsoever. I believe that the expression of any religious beliefs on the forum is unnecessary and inappropriate.
Here's an example from a post :

The passage quoted was merely by way of illustration. It may or may not contravene your present forum policy
The point of my post was to suggest the need for a rule to cover the question of religious opinion/comment in posts - which does not appear to be covered specifically by the present rules.

It's never really presented itself as a problem here but would, I think, fall under a combination of rule 1 and Note b if it did cause an issue. It's hard enough to get people to read the rules as it is, without trying to create specific rules for every possible eventuality.

I'm not suggesting something complicated.
It is surely simple to have a rule that states posts should not contain any religious comments or beliefs.

I didn't say it was complicated to add new rules, I said it's hard enough to get people to read the ones we already have and which have been deliberately kept to a minimum. We will discuss it amongst the moderators though.
