    Default Easy-XL not working after update

    Hi. I am using Excel 2002 on Windows XP. The Easy-XL program worked great until I downloaded the latest update today. Now my menu options simply don't work. I can't split or combine columns etc. Any help would be appreciated.

    This indicates that Easy-XL may have been disabled by Excel.

    If you have Excel 2002 (XP) or 2003 then:

    Choose Excel's Help -> About Excel menu option

    Click on the Disabled Items button

    If Easy-XL is listed, enable it and then restart Excel.

    If you have Excel 2007 then:

    Click on the Office button (top left)

    Select Excel Options (bottom right)

    Select Add-Ins on the left-hand pane.

    Click on the Manage: dropdown. (bottom center)

    Select Disabled Items

    Click the Go button to the right of the Manage: dropdown.

    If Easy-XL listed, click it and then select enable.

    Restart Excel.

    If you have Excel 2000 (or the steps above did not work) then

    Make sure that you have logged in with an account that has administrative rights to your PC.

    Go to Control Panel (Start->Settings->Control Panel or Start->Control Panel)

    Select Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Settings in Vista and Win 7) and locate and click on Easy-XL.

    Click Remove.

    Please note any warning messages that appear.

    Reinstall from your CD or the file you downloaded (easy-xl.msi)

    If all goes well you should be able to start Excel and use Easy-XL again.

    Thank you for your help. I should have mentioned that I did try to reinstall my oringinal version that I downloaded, and it does work again as before. The problem happens after I download the update. (repeatedly). Is there a newer version I could try to download online?

    The latest version is 4.0.159. There are no updates for this version. When you say that you're downloading the update, are you using the Easy-XL -> Help -> Online Updates function? This should not be offering you an update as you should already have the latest version. Is this not the case?

    You might have downloaded an earlier version of you did it a year or so ago. In that case, simply uninstall and then download the demo version from Easy-XL.com again. You won't need to re-activate and you'll end up with the latest version.
