    You're welcome. To answer your question, COUNTIF checks a range for a criteria. The range is all of the data in columns M through R and the criteria is C3. Conditional formatting then checks M:R for D3, E3, etc. as well as C4, C5, etc.

    A result of 0 is seen as FALSE while a result of anything >=1 is seen as TRUE.
