1. CF lower case only

Hi

I have a range of cells that contain 1 character only and I want to highlight those where the character is lower case.

I have seen similar variations here but they don't seem to only limit it to lower case text.

As an example using these letters k J 7 q f & H ^ 5 P

I only want k q f to be coloured

As ever any help would be appreciated

hi
I am not sure that it will be the easiest way, but you could try to use:

Code:
` If cell(i,j) = chr(102) or cell(i,j) = chr(107) or cell(i,j) = chr(113) then '102 - f,107 -k ,113 - q `
and so on...

3. Re: CF lower case only

=exact(a1,upper(a1))=false

4. Re: CF lower case only

Try the following as the conditional formatting formula (sample for cell A1):

Code:
`=AND(CODE(A1)>96,CODE(A1)<123)`

5. Re: CF lower case only

Another one for CF :

=CODE(A1)=CODE(LOWER(A1))

This formula would evaluate True for symbols as well which the OP indicated he didn't want.

This would also work...

=ABS(109.5-CODE(A1))<13

Thank you all for showing an interest.

I can confirm with very grateful thanks that both Rick & Teeroy's responses seem to work perfectly.

Again my sincere thanks to you.
