sum to a limit then subtract to limit and go again

Hi,

can someone help me with the following :

let's say I have a variable and let's make it =4 for this example

I need to have a formula that will generate the following rows :

1
2
3
4
3
2
1
2
3
4
3
2
1
.... and so on...

Any ideas ?

=1+MOD(ROWS($E$1:$E1)-1,(2*($D$1-1)))-IF(MOD(ROWS($E$1:$E1)-1,(2*($D$1-1)))>$D$1-1,2*MOD(ROWS($E$1:$E1)-1,($D$1-1)),0)
This formula works for any number in $D$1.
