Calculating streaks when some cells are blank

I am trying to calculate winning and losing streaks, but some of my cells do not contain information because a team might not play on that current day. How can I have a formula that will over look a blank cell, but still have it continue a streak?

Example

Cell A1. W
A2. L
A3. W
A4.
A5. W
A6. W

I should have a streak of 3 wins, but every time I try a formula it will only calculate it as 2 wins. How do I have a formula overlook the blank cell?

And then I need it to calculate the longest streak as well.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you,

Tim

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
In my sheet it should be coming up with 6, but it is coming up as 4.

I appreciate your help on this.

I have multiple teams and sheets and not one of them comes up with the correct amount of wins. All the other formulas work except that one.

Without a data sample where the formula doesn't work i don't know how to help.

I was just looking at your formula again for H3 and it looks like it is calculating the L's not the W's. You show the result as 3, but it should read 7. Could this be the reason why mine keeps displaying an incorrect result?

Why 7? It calculates the max of consecutive Ws only in the last 10 games (gray area in post 18)

I need the total wins during the last 10 games not the current winning streak. I have that one already.
