Hi all!

I inherited a spreadsheet of 100 rows/50+ columns that has simple conditional formatting rules in it. Unfortunately, the CF rules were build using $E$7, so if I copy the CF to other cells they continue to be compared to $E$7. I would like to change it to $E7 so that when I copy the CF to other rows it will adjust to $E8, $E9, $E10, $E11, etc. Is there any way to do this other than manually editing each cell in one row and then copying the CF to other rows?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

George

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Hi mart37, thanks for the suggestion! But what I was really wondering was is there a way to modify a whole sheet of conditional formatting parameters with a search and replace? If I have a spreadsheet full of numbers, and I want to replace all the 45's with 9's it is easy. But I can't find any reference to doing that same thing to change conditional formatting on an entire sheet. Any suggestions for that? Thanks again!

If you select a cell with CF and change it, the default behavior is to change all cells to which the CF applies.

When you manage a rule you can change REFERS TO.
