The rows/cells that contain the date data that I need to reference are:

Col A, rows 5-19 - A5 contains a custom formatted date that displays as 'W/c 7 September 2017'
Col A, rows 20-23 - A20 contains a custom formatted date for the next week in the same format
Col A, rows 24-30 - A24 contains a custom formatted date for the next week in the same format
Col A, rows 31-43 - A31 contains a custom formatted date for the next week in the same format
Col A, rows 44-50 - A44 contains a custom formatted date for the next week in the same format
Col A, rows 51-58 - A51 contains a custom formatted date for the next week in the same format
Col A, rows 59-63 - A59 contains a custom formatted date for the next week in the same format
Col A, rows 64-69 - A64 contains a custom formatted date for the next week in the same format

B51 thru E69 is the cell range I want to do things to.

Because in column F I have a filter that can be applied, so just using straightforward data validation input message doesn't work because as you apply the filter, the rows obviously scrunch up and you can't now see what the date is (plus I don't know how to reference a cell within data validation in order to display an input message based on the value in another cell - I don't think you can do it but happy to be advised otherwise!). So whenever the user's cursor is in this cell range I'd like the week commencing date relating to those rows (as shown above) to display for them so they can be sure they're adding it into the correct section.

Would anyone have some VBA that would do this?

Many thanks indeed.
