Hi all, I want to update the organogram for my NGO and I have 2 criteria, expat and national staff, I add small symbols to each cell and it should calculate the number of staff nat and expat automatically but I can't figure out the formula, the one I have, doesn't take into account some cells and I guess I didn't manage to write the right formula for that.

Can anyone help? this is an example of the formula =NB.SI(11:56;"v"). ( a friend put this formula for me but I didn't ask her what the NB and SI stand for!

I'm not really good in Excel but I want to be!

Thank you!

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Welcome to the forum. :)

NB.SI is called COUNTIF in English and it counts the cells that meet a criterion. In your case it is counting the cells in rows 11:56 that contain the letter v. Without seeing your workbook, it's hard to tell you what you actually need.
