I am trying to hyperlink to files in my Matlab generated excel sheet.

Unfortunately many of the folder names holding those files have a name including a "#" sign. What I can see is that Excel uses this sign for other purposes, which may cause this problem.

A typical hyperlink look likes this:

=HYPERLINK("\\xx.xxx.x.x\folder1\folder2\folder3\folder4\2017-11-03_#3378\AD_REG_20171103_094649_1_0000001351_cam5.mp4";"cam5")

Is there any way to solve this. Changing the folder names are not an option.

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
Welcome to the forum. :)

I think this should work:

=HYPERLINK("File:///\\xx.xxx.x.x\folder1\folder2\folder3\folder4\2017-11-03_%233378\AD_REG_20171103_094649_1_0000001351_cam5.mp4";"cam5")

adding File:/// to the start and using %23 instead of the # symbol.
