    Our HR department wants me to create an easy way for them to summarize the following data:

    Sheet1

    A B C D E
    1 Name Home Dept Dept Worked In Date Hours Worked
    2 Garrett Assembly Injection 11/7/2017 4
    3 aNgela Assembly Paint 11/1/2017 6
    4 Travis Injection Assembly 11/2/2017 8
    5 Tony Paint Injection 11/10/2017 1
    6 Stephanie PC Paint 11/21/2017 8
    7 Tammy Assembly PC 11/1/2017 3
    8 Garrett Paint Assembly 10/5/2017 8
    9 aNgela Assembly Paint 9/4/2017 1
    10 Travis PC Assembly 11/10/2017 8
    11 Tony Assembly Injection 11/21/2017 1
    12 Stephanie Assembly Paint 11/1/2017 8
    13 Tammy Assembly PC 10/5/2017 1

    They want to be able to summarize it by week. (Monday thru Saturday)

    A summary would look like this:

    Sheet1

    A B C D
    #CACACA ; text-align:center; " >25 Home Dept Dept Worked In Hours Total Week
    #CACACA ; text-align:center; " >26 Assembly Injection 15 11/6-11/11
    #CACACA ; text-align:center; " >27 Injection PC 21 11/6-11/12
    #CACACA ; text-align:center; " >28 HR Paint 16 11/6-11/13
    #CACACA ; text-align:center; " >29 Paint Assembly 18 11/6-11/14

    This is completely just an example. I didn't even add up the numbers correct. I just made something up. But you get what I'm trying to do. But they want the ability to choose any week of the year. Week#1, Week#2, Week#34, etc.

    Is there an easy way to do this. Keep in mind that the person using this sheet may be a novice excel user.

    I've been playing with this and come up with something that may be what you're trying to achieve.

    As there would be too many instructions to post here, I decided to make my workbook available from the link below.

    I use helper columns N thru Q. They can be hidden.
    Columns G, H, I and K are data validation from those helper columns, so users will be able to select data sets for those four columns as they please.
