I been querying data from access with Excel. It always pulls the entire data set. I filtered the data in Access but when i export/query it it takes the entire data set.

Is there also a way to make the query quicker? It takeks anywhere from 5-15 mins for it to query 60k+ rows.

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
Its hard to say with the little information that you have provided.
What exactly is it that you are trying to do that involves both Access and Excel?
Why not just do the the whole thing in Access?

I used access to query our ERP system to catch and manipulate our data. I then use excel to create charts and pivot tables with it.

I would recommend doing queries in Access to filter the data as you need it, and then just export what you need to Excel.
Hopefully, that will weed out a lot of what you do not need and keep the size more manageable for Excel.

Sorry for the late reply. I do linked tables to our ERP system then runs queries off of that. But for some reason the filters don't stick when i extract. I must be doing something wrong.

I think you will have to give more details about what you do in Access (as regards filtering data) and then what you do in Excel (as regards how you are getting filtered data from Access).
