    Post M3 to Tonnes Convert

    Hi All

    Bit of maths help please.

There is a tank of Active Carbon, which when full to 100% holds 57 M3(meters Cubed) (1% of the tank would be 0.57 M3)

If the amount used in a day was say 1% which is 0.57 M3, how do i convert this to tonnes?

Any help will be greatly received.

You need to know the density to do that.

    Hi RoryA

I found the below table if that helps?

The density table is scrollable to the right Density = weight volume microgram (g) milligram (mg) gram (g) kilogram (kg) tonne (t) ounce (oz) pound (lb) volume unit grain (gr) slug (sl) short ton (short tn) long ton (long tn) stone (st) troy ounce (oz t) troy pound (troy) pennyweight (dwt)

Incorrect Tables - This one is correct:

Density = weight volume microgram (g) milligram (mg) gram (g) kilogram (kg) tonne (t) ounce (oz) pound (lb) volume unit
    cubic centimeter 1 480 000 1 480 1.48 0 1.48 10-6 0.05 0 cubic centimeter
    cubic decimeter 1 480 000 000 1 480 000 1 480 1.48 0 52.21 3.26 cubic decimeter
    cubic meter 1 480 000 000 000 1 480 000 000 1 480 000 1 480 1.48 52 205.46 3 262.84 cubic meter

From that you know it's 1.48 tonnes per cubic metre so you just need to multiply by the number of cubic metres.

    Thanks RoryA

So if 1% was used at 0.57m3 then the calc is as simple as =0.57*1.48 ?
