678910
activity Mactivity Nactivity Oactivity Pactivity Q

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
It is a bit lengthy to detail the workings of this formula.
There is plenty on the web on how to use it.

But I will give you a quick overview.

It has 5-parts to it.
It defines a range and can reshape as you need it to.
It can give you an answer to just one cell if you like, which is what you are wanting.

The five parts are;
First you tell it where to start.
then you tell it how many rows to move from that position,
then you tell it how many columns over to move.
then from there you tell it the size of the range you want, starting with the height,
then following up with the width of the range.

Any one of these parts can contain a formula to describe it's location.

For example: for the part of how many rows, you could have it do a match to match what row a day of the month is in...your answer would be a number.
That would be the number of rows it would move down, etc...
