I have an excel template that I would like to open with a main menu... each menu pointing to a sheet (10 in total) 3 of which are password protected.
Sales
Costing sheet (password protected)
Costing work sheet (password protected)
Bom
Cut sheet
Drawings
Production
Qc
Shipping
Employees (password protected)

Is there a vba code to do this?

Excel Facts

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
I looked at this several days ago.
To start with what is the sheet name of your Template and what does this mean:

I would like to open with a main menu..
What is a "main menu"?

the sheet names are listed above... I guess the "main menu" would also be know as a dashboard... a sheet that opens automatically when the file is opened then displays the sheets available OR even better a login screen them displays a list that that user has access to.

does this make any sense?

SHEETS:
Sales

Costing sheet (password protected)
Costing work sheet (password protected)
Bom
Cut sheet
Drawings
Production
Qc
Shipping
Employees (password protected)

I asked this:
To start with what is the sheet name of your Template.

You never gave the name.

So are you saying you have a sheet named "Dashboard"

And in column "A" you want a list of all your sheet names entered?

sorry I misread your reply...

Presently I don't have a template sheet but can easily create one called "dashboard"
on that sheet I'd like to have
1) a log in screen with "user name" and Password then it would display the sheets available to that user name
or
2) a list of all the sheets in the spreadsheet some of which are already password protected.

Naturally when you open the file it needs to open on this "dashboard" sheet

Thanks for your patience and help.
