Data Validation help

I am using the data validation function so I can select from a range of options. I can set it up fine, but when I try and move the cell the data validation disappears, and then when I try and redo it, it still shows the range etc there, but no drop down arrow is showing, and it doesn't let me use it in that or any other cell.

Can anyone help?

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Not entirely certain of what you mean, but the following may be of help -

1. If you 'Freeze panes' at the same point as a validated cell, you can lose the drop-down arrow. There's no workaround, other than unfreezing the panes.

2. Check that you have selected a list to validate against and the In-Cell Dropdown box is checked on the data validation form.

3. If you have moved the list to validate against to different cells, consider calling it a name (e.g MyList), and put = MyList in the Source box on the Data validation form.

Hope one of these is of some help.
