Hi all, very much banging my head on the desk on this one.

how can I write a formula that splits product we made, lets say 5000 units, over 2:08 (2 hours 8 minutes)

BUT.... here is the trick,
- in column A I have a list of date and time starting at Monday 5:00am
- but what if we started making product at 5:30 am and it finishes at 7:38am

it might look something like this as example, but I do not know how to write the formula, it may simply not even be possible by formula:
- 5am 1170 - ran for 30 minutes
- 6am 2340 - ran for 1 hour
- 7am 1490 - ran for 38 minutes
- 8am

any help appreciated.

Hi,

Not sure to fully understand your problem ...

You should have three columns:

- in Column A, time formatted as time 5:00:00 AM
- in Column B, number formatted as number 1170
- in Column C, time formatted as time 12:30:00 AM

Adding your times in Column C ... would produce the expected result ...

Hi James,
thank you for taking the time to reply. This one is difficult to explain, and I am unable to load up a file to help .

I think that what I want to do is not going to be possible by a formula. possibly a macro, but I do not know lol.
