How do i cut off the surplus numbers in Excel to show only 0.00

0.0000000000000000000000000001234567

I need the new value to be 0.00 not formatted as 0.00

Many thanks in advance

Hi Zakky

Does this do what you want?

Code:
=ROUNDDOWN(A1,2)

Where A1 is the location of the number. Even if you format the number to be greater than 2 decimal places, the number will only ever be rounded down to 2 decimal places.

Caution, however, as you will lose accuracy, ie the number will be rounded down to 2 decimal places - accuracy beyond that will be permanently lost.

I'm using the ROUNDDOWN() function, but explore whether ROUNDUP() or ROUND() is more appropriate.

Cheers

All, Thank you for the prompt reply, much appreciated!

The rounddown function did the trick.
