I download the same excel report daily. Is there a way to open this report with the same headings/columns that I want to see. I am deleting and hiding half of the columns for my report

When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
Welcome to the Board!

Yes, you can create a Macro to do the Formatting that you like.
For something like this, all you need to do is to turn on the Macro Recorder, and record yourself performing the formatting steps you desire. When you are finished, stop Recording.
This should give you most (if not all) of the code you need.

Note, when recording this Macro, I would recommend saving it to your Personal Macro Workbook. That way, it will always be available to you whenever you have Excel open on that computer.
So when you open your next file, you simply go to the list of Macros and run it.
