I am trying to create a formula to calculate the value of a stock portfolio after a series of annual returns/(losses) and after withdrawing an annual amount based on a % of the original balance.
For example, I have an opening balance of $100 and want to withdraw 4% of the original balance each year. I have a series of annual returns/(losses) that I want to apply. The right answer is $198.09 in C15 below. The array formula in C17 calculates the correct ending value if there are no withdrawals, but I am trying to figure out how to modify or replace this formula include a withdrawal % of the original balance. I don't want helper columns, and C1 and C2 will vary.
