Guys,

Columns A & B are in the same workbook but different tab. Where in the formula I should insert reference to other tab. Thanks.

=$F2<>index($B$2:$B$100,match(mid($E2,3,4)*1,$A$2:$A$100,0))

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Base something on this

Assume A is on Sheet1, B is on Sheet2

=$F2<>index(Sheet2!$B$2:$B$100,match(mid($E2,3,4)*1,Sheet1!$A$2:$A$100,0))

Depending on your version of Excel Condtional Formatting may not work when referring to other Sheets.
The way round this is to define the range you want to look at on the other sheet as a Named Range and insert that in the formula.
