Searched the archives but I could not find an answer...

I have a cell with a formatted date entry (MM/DD/YYYY).

I need to use the DD to calculate an average per day where the data I am using is thru the prior date:

F3 = (B3 / (DD-1))

What would be the correct way to write this?

Thank you!

David

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
in F3
=(B3/(DAY(A1)-1))

where A1 is a valid Excel date
