Hi,
A macro creates a listing of invoices to batch upload into out Accounts Receivable system.

The output in the excel tab looks like 007/18/0000151,100.26,,,,,, (which is the necessary format)

Macro saves the tab as a .txt file

When I open the .txt in Notepad, the output looks like "007/18/0000151,100.26,,,,,,"

and the "s are recognised in the AR system and prevents the file from being processed.

If I copy the "007/18/0000151,100.26,,,,,," back into Excel the "s disappear.

Any ideas as to why these appear and how to prevent them - work around is to edit / replace " with blank in the txt file but this turns a near automatic process into a more manual one ?

thanks
Steve

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
The issue could be with the macro generating your text file. How are you doing it?

Is 007/18/0000151,100.26,,,,,, in 1 cell or in adjacent cells separated by commas and you concatenate it?

The 007/18/0000151 is the invoice number in column A,
The 100.26 is the invoice amount in column B

The macro concatenates A&","&B
also, the required format to upload into the AR system requires additional commas for potential data pieces which we don't use, so the end result in column C = 333333]007/18/0000151,100.26,,,,,,

Macro values column C, then deletes columns A & B

Saves as .txt file and all looks ok in excel, just when reviewing in Notepad, I get "333333]007/18/0000151,100.26,,,,,,"

Missed out that the macro adds the additional commas with A&","&B&",,,,,," then does the copy/values
