I am trying to create a spreadsheet in which every 12 hours an operator will in one column input running hours on a generator and every 150 hours of runtime I want an alert or email notification to let the operator know that it’s time to service the equipment

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
You are describing is a batch/cron type process that runs on a schedule. Excel can auto-execute macros based on events but time based events are not in scope (I don't believe). You can easily create a win task or cron task that sends email alerts on a schedule telling operators to perform a task.
