I'm not sure if this is possible but I'm trying to get an average of a column of only cells highlighted in a certain color.

The column has GM% of projects. The color coding I'm using is as follows:
Green for current Projects
Blue for up coming projects
Red for projects ending soon

I would like a formula to read AVG GM% of only current and new projects and excludes the ending soon projects.
Any suggestions?

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
AVERAGEIF can do it... one column has values, one column has the criteria... project types "<>type2" would exclude projects of "type2" (for example)
