I've a file with colored fields. I want to create pivot table that take under consideration the colors of the fields. I thought that if I'll have a formula that recognize the color by number or other indicator I could create another column and run a pivot accordingly. I tried "=CELL("color",F2)", it's not working… Someone know a formula for that? Any other suggestion for that please?

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.

I would use VBA for that.
Do you have conditional formatting applied? It has precedence over manually filled colors.

No conditional formatting applied, I received a colored file and want to process the data.
VBA? no excel function to recognize the color of the field?

The GET.CELL function is not reliable. The code below does it.

Code:
Sub No_Cond_Form()
' column A => colored cells
' column B => color numbers
Dim i%
For i = 1 To 10
    Cells(i, 2) = Cells(i, 1).Interior.Color
Next
End Sub
