Hello all,

I have Excel 2011 for Mac.

I was working on an excel file (NBA 17-18) for the last week and save it frequently as I update it.

My computer shut down unexpectedly today and when I started it up again to continue updating excel file 'NBA 17-18' and save it periodically, it would save it as 'NBA 17-18 (version 1)'.

Now as I go back to find the file, I can not find the (version 1) file anywhere and it has all of the work I have done in the last 4 hours. All I can find is the original NBA 17-18 file without any of the updates.

I'm sure this is a simple solution. Any help?

Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Where do i look for that? There is there a temporary folder somewhere. I just need to find it.

Thanks for your help, Admiral. I figured out the problem this morning. It was a simple fix.

Go to excel > File > Open

now click file location box at the top and change it to 'Office 2011 Auto Recovery'

It was the first file there.

Saved it into my dropbox and that's all she wrote!

Thanks for your help, admiral100.
