Hi all,
From another forum I have spotted a line of code

Code:
With CreateObject("VBScript.RegExp")

Now I was led to believe that if you create an object, you should set it to Nothing at the end of the routine.?

However that was always after something like
Code:
Set objVBSR = CreateObject("VBScript.RegExp")

Does Excel clear up after itself if one uses the first method.?

TIA

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
It does so with either method once the variable goes out of scope (unless you've created a circular reference).

Oh really,
I understood that was for variables, but not for objects. My mistake.

Thank you.

No, it applies to object variables too. VBA maintains a reference counter for each object, and after that reaches 0, cleanup will occur. When the variable goes out of scope, or is explicitly set to Nothing, the counter is decremented.
