Hi folks,

I’ve got two questions, I’m trying to figure out how to automaticallypopulate one cell with text when a second cell is populated with abbreviated textfrom a range (drop down list)
Example:
If “cell D2” contains abbreviated text from a range of optionsi.e. “V, V – M, V – F”,
I want/trying to get “cell AF” to show the full text correspondingto the abbreviation i.e. “Vacant,” “Vacant – Female Only” etc.
Is it also possible to incorporate the function as part ofconditional formatting?
Cheers

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Hi & welcome to the board.
CF can only change the format of a cell, it cannot change the contents.
You would need either a formula or VBA
