Converting list to table

Hi all,

I have the following set of data:

Name	Event	Place
Athlete 1	A	1st
Athlete 1	C	1st
Athlete 1	D	1st
Athlete 1	E	1st
Athlete 2	C	2nd
Athlete 2	D	2nd
Athlete 3	A	2nd
Athlete 4	E	2nd
Athlete 4	F	1st
Athlete 5	B	1st

<colgroup><col><col span="2"></colgroup><tbody>
</tbody>

And I would like to convert to to the following format.

	A	B	C	D	E	F
Athlete 1	1st		1st	1st	1st
Athlete 2			2nd	2nd
Athlete 3	2nd
Athlete 4					2nd	1st
Athlete 5		1st

<colgroup><col width="64" span="7" style="width:48pt"> </colgroup><tbody>
</tbody>

I'm not sure where to start, i have approx 200 athletes and a total of 10 events.

Is this a macro or formula job?

Set a pivot table with name in rows, event in columns, and sum of place (delete the ordinal suffix) as value

Perfect, thank you, New to pivot tables and didn't know you could change to sum rather than count.
