I am wanting to segment a contact list by creating a Segmented list name Column. I would like to segment the list by every 2000 contacts per state. I was thinking of having the column name be TX -1, TX -2, etc. for every 2000 contacts. But once a new state is presented then it should start back over TN - 1, TN - 2. (the first 2000 contacts should be listed as STATE - 1, Next 2000 STATE - 2, Etc).

The Data does contain a State column.

Hi there,
if you have a running COUNTIF formula, you should be able to get the number.
Say you want that number in column A and have the state in column B:
for A2 (assuming row 1 has headers):
=COUNTIF($B$2:$B2,B2) -> and drag down. The trick is in the $ signs.
Cheers,
Koen
