Hi all,

In column B I have a conditional format set at "any blank cell in column B shall be filled in RED." I need to make this execute only if the adjacent cell (column A) has an "X" in it.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Use a Formula & enter
=AND($B1="",$A1="X")
Change $A1 & $B1 to match the first cell in the Applies to Range

Use the Conditional Formatting formula option.

So, select the range you want to apply it to (say B2:B100), then write the CF formula as it applies to the first cell in your selection ,i.e.
Code:
=AND($A2="X",$B2="")
and choose your red fill color.
