Hi Folks,

If i enter "Yet to Start" or "Yet to Start" or "Blank" in cell A1 the cell B1 should be blank and if i enter a Date in A1 then i need to calculate A1+56 days in B1 . Can some body help me out with some formula.:rolleyes:

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Place this formula in cell B1:
Code:
=IF(ISNUMBER(A1),A1+56,"")

Hi Joe,

Thanks !! But when i tried with the above formula i am getting 40508,40600 in column B . I think the date is not Number value right . The ISNUMBER function works only when the cell A1 is Number but here my cell is a DATE function.

It is important to understand how Excel stores dates. It stores them as numbers, specifically, the number of days since 1/0/1900.
So in Excel, dates really are numbers! They are just numbers with a date format applied to them.
So your results of 40508,40600 are actually correct. Just change the format of the cell to your desired date format, and you will see it in the normal date format you are used to.
