I'm using excel 2016.

I have table of information that I filter to produce a dynamic chart (filter by say column A). I'm trying to get the selected filtered name in to the chart title. The best solution I have come up with is to set up cell outside of the table, say E20, with a drop down validation list to the range in column A. I then link this cell t the chart title. This means that I need to filter column A and cell E20 to ensure the chart reads correctly.

Is there a better way to do what I'm trying to do and/or a method to link E20 so that it picks up the filter selected in column A without the need to do it manually?

Any help would be appreciated.

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
